Celebrate

For years now I've made sample swatches of card, paper, ink-pads etc etc. It's really helpful when shopping or for when trying to colour match for projects.

Papermill Direct will send out samples of their products, ten pieces for £1 inc p&p.
I recently bought some of their pearlescent card samples and they are quite generous in size, by the time I'd cut them down to suit my swatch rings I had lots of little strips left over.

Looking at the strips on my desk I thought they were too nice to throw away so made this quick card.

Baby

I'm usually making cards at the very last minute but thought I'd get this one made in case the baby makes an early arrival :)

I've used SU stamps and just added a bit of glitter.

Dad

My dear dad celebrated his birthday recently. He's always been a nature lover so I knew he'd like this card.
The papers are from Making Cards and the alphabet dies are Sizzix Sunset. The sentiment stamp is JustRite.

Impossible Card

I spotted several of these 'Impossible' cards on Pinterest recently and thought I'd have a go at making one.
My favourite tutorial videos are usually about ten or fifteen minutes long, just enough time to enjoy a cup of tea whilst watching them.

The particular video I watched for the Impossible card went on for quite a long time.
After about thirty minutes I just had to switch it off but at least I had all the vital measurements.

I sat down to make the card and then realised the measurements did not work. So, now I know why it's called an Impossible card!

I wouldn't let it beat me but it's not possible that I'll be making another one ;)

Fancy fold card

I don't buy a lot of patterned paper/ card for my club as I don't find it cost effective. Recently I found some nice vintage-style pads in The Range and they were so cheap (£1.49 and £1.99) I couldn't not buy them.

I'd watched a video the other day of a card with a similar fold to this one but the measurements were all in imperial and I find it difficult sometimes marking 3/16ths of an inch or whatever.

The card from this pad is perfectly sized to just fold in half and then half again, no faffing. I did then decide to trim some off the height but no silly bits of an inch.

The stamps are a mix of Inkandinkado and Kaisercraft.
