Shabby

We made this card a while back at the club, unfortunately my sample got a bit battered then misplaced, so by the time I photographed it it was definitely on the shabby side of chic.

Embossing folder is by Anna Griffin, we rubbed a little gilding wax over the surface.
Decorative card panel is Graphic 45, the front panel is a stamp by SU. There was originally another small panel tucked into a front pocket but that has disappeared somewhere along the way.

Border die is Spellbinders
Flowers made from card that has been punched (SU) then dampened with water and scrunched up.

I don't like this, I think the stamp is too fussy and it's competing with the patterned paper, I'm going to have to layer another piece over it to cover it up!

I wanted to matt the vellum quote with some gold card as it looked lost and needed some definition but when I tried this it didn't quite look right. Matting meant that too much of the patterned paper was then covered up.
After leaving it overnight inspiration struck and I used a very old Krylon gold marker to edge the vellum, I think I've had it eight years or so and haven't used it for ages but it was still fluid.

Flower was a bargain from The Range, pack of twelve for £1, it's white but I've gently inked the edges with a pale beige ink.
