Dad

My lovely dad's birthday today.

I've used an 8 x 8 inch card, with image from Hunkydory.  I've stamped and heat-embossed the left-hand panel using JustRite stamps, the 'DAD' is Block Party by Sizzix

Silver Anniversary

A card made to order for someone so I've blurred the faces to respect privacy. They asked for a yellow and silver theme. I made a box and decorated with a Spellbinders butterfly and sentiment die from Simon Says Stamp.

I used two 8 X 8 inch card blanks and adhered one inside the other at the middle back.
I decorated the front using a Sue Wilson embossing folder and Martha Stewart punch. Sizzix Block Party for the numbers, layered four times and glazed with Glossy Accents.

When you open the card there is another layer opening the opposite way to the front. I used JustRite stamps heat embossed silver for the sentiment and added some Martha Stewart butterflies.
The silver card is from a fill-a-wallet place.

40

Spotty panel is Theresa Collins
Paper is Tilda
I've edged the tag with a Krylon pen (went through a phase about six years ago where I Kryloned everything, then forgot all about the pens, but pleased to say they haven't dried up and still work!)

The '40' is Sizzix Block Party alpha, I cut six lots of each number from cardstock then layered them up, to make faux-chipboard. The top layer was glazed with Glossy Accents and whilst still wet was sprinkled with Glamour Dust.

(ribbon is straight in real life!)

Happy

Given the increased postage costs, yet again, I'm trying to make some cards that are relatively flat and with minimal embellishments.

This one is a stamp from Woodware combined with Sizzix Block Party die-cuts.

Gift Wrapping

I like to bulk buy plain wrapping paper at this time of year. Have you ever noticed how much cheaper it is in Oct/ Nov/ Dec?
There are lots of offers on in the shops; 3 rolls for 2, 2 for £4, that kind of thing.
If you buy plain, spotty or stripy (ie not a specific Christmas pattern) then you can use it all year round for birthdays and other occasions.

Some people might think it is not Christmassy enough but I think by the time it is under a tree, in a decorated room, it looks just fine. Plus you can always add bows and ribbons and hand-made tags to jazz it up.

This year I thought I'd try going without tags altogether.
I used some scraps of card to cut out names on my Sizzix and then put them through a snowflake embossing folder and glued them straight to the parcels.

Using up scraps + saving money on paper and tags = more money for stash :)

Invitations

Once I made someone's wedding stationery.
I swore blind I would never do it again because I hated the repetitiveness of it. Then last year I compromised and did a small order, swearing again that it would be the last time.

This weekend I found myself doing a bulk order of invitations, I couldn't say no.
The wording is from a set of clear stamps by Habico, punch is 'Lattice Hearts' by Martha Stewart.
'50' in the bottom right corner is Sizzix Block Party.

Apron

This was the card I made to match the BBQ on the previous post.
The spotty paper was free with a magazine and the plain blue card is pearlescent. The tag has a Father's Day message that I printed on the computer. The 'DAD' is a Sizzix alpha (Block Party) and some scraps of ribbon to finish off.
