Birthday

One of my lovely ladies, Coleen, is the most amazing sewer/ quilter/ needle crafter.

I made this card for her recent birthday using Tilda die-cuts and some washi tape.

Sentiment dies are Sue Wilson, and the finished card is 8 x 8 inches.

Pringles Tube

I have the cleverest ladies at my card club.
The very talented Jan showed us how to recycle a boring old Pringles tube (other savoury snacks are available but these small tubes are only 3 for £1 at one of the pound-shop places)

I could never have figured this out by myself -   yes I could cover the base but I wouldn't have known how to make the lid.

I used Tilda papers and cheap flowers from The Range for this one.

Birthday

Over the years I've amassed a collection of Tilda patterned papers, I love how they all mix and match so easily.
We used them to make this craft club project, everyone chose their own patterns so each one was slightly different.

We used two 6 x 6 card blanks, cut one diagonally to the left and one to the right, then attached in the centre. A strip of paper was attached across the bottom to keep the tag from slipping out (I should have stamped a further sentiment here, oops)

The sentiment stamped on the tag is by Lili of the Valley.

Embossing folder by Sizzix, we brayered the folder with ink before embossing for a subtle two-tone effect.

Mother's Day

I was so pleased to be able make this card for my mum for Mothering Sunday this year.

A few days after Christmas, through absolutely no fault of her own, she was knocked down by a car (someone reversing from a driveway said 'he did not see' my mum and dad standing on the pavement). My dad was okay but my mum took the full impact and was thrown onto the road, she suffered injuries and has had other health complications since but we are so grateful she is still with us.

Now you know why I had not much time or inclination for crafting and blogging through January and February!

The card is 8 x 8 inches.

I used a grand Nestie circle die to cut through the front of the card, and the same die to cut a sentiment panel for the inside. Then I cut a scalloped circle out of purple card, put the plain circle die inside that and cut again.
So basically the sentiment panel is glued inside but visible from the outside.

The 'mum' stamp is by Papermania and the other is SU.
Patterned paper is Tilda, leaves die is Sue Wilson, and all flowers are Hobbycraft.

Thinking of those who find Mother's Day difficult.xx.

Pink Roses

Another card for the 'pink' challenge.

Papers are Tilda, I've added some rose gold Frantage chunky embossing powder.
Dies are Memory Box.

Birthday

Paper is by Tilda
I didn't want to cover up too much of the pattern so stamped the sentiment (Waltzingmouse Stamp) directly on to it and highlighted with a Nestie frame. The frame was smudged on to a Versamark pad and then white and pale pink embossing powder added, some bits rubbed off, and then heated, for a rough effect.

Birthday

I had originally made a tag to attach to this card but an accident with an ink-pad meant a design change half-way through.
Then, after I photographed it I noticed the missing 'dot' over the 'i' and that I'd forgotten to stitch through the holes!

Papers are by Tilda
Sentiment dies are PTI and Tattered Lace

Advent Calendar

I bought this Kaisercraft advent calendar kit months ago.
I think it was September before I took it out of the packet, then took ages painting it all. The instructions I read said it would need two coats but I gave it three and still wasn't happy with the finish (but was extremely bored of painting by then)

Assembly was straight-forward enough but I was concerned as to whether the MDF would have swollen with the paint and then not fit properly.
After all this I read a blog post where someone suggested assembling it all first and then simply spray painting the whole lot....yeah, wish I'd read that before I started!

The calendar had been sitting about for a few weeks because, although I'd painted it dark brown, I had no idea how to decorate it.
I was hoping that the shops would start getting their Christmas decorations in and that it would inspire me.

Then, last week I realised it was December 1st (today) and that I needed to crack on else there would be no point at all in having an advent calendar.

I am a fan of the Tilda range of papers so eventually decided to use a combination in duck-egg/ brown.

I'm ashamed to say the calendar is still not complete but I have put some chocolates in anyway and it is nearly done ...

I need to number all the boxes (but don't like the huge numbers that come with the kit) and also I want to do something with the big area in the middle.
Maybe by next Christmas I'll have it done :)

Gifts

I made these to go with the card on the previous post.

All papers used are Tilda.
I made the box myself, it has sachets of hot chocolate inside, but bought the bottle bag plain.
