Embossing folder by Sizzix, we brayered the folder with ink before embossing for a subtle two-tone effect.

Bookmark Birthday

One of my craft club ladies adores poppies, when I spotted this poppy bookmark in a local garden centre I decided to buy it to use as part of her birthday card. She very kindly gives lifts to other members each week so the sentiment on the bookmark was very appropriate.
I only attached the green cardstock along three sides so it's easy to slide the bookmark out.

Not keen on this one but I've been off doing my other hobby (climbing fells) lately and found it hard getting back into making cards this week. One of those afternoons where I kept pushing the same bits of card round for ages and just couldn't get it right!

This is my entry into "The world's most boring card 2013".

I bought a set in the sales, it seemed like a bargain at the time, but I'm a bit of a loss as to what to do with it.

It's a rubber stamp with matching embossing folder so you get some depth to the image but it's quite large so seems a shame to cover parts of it up...

hmmm think I'll need to trawl Google and see what others have done with it, steal some ideas.

This was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest (will try and find it to give proper credit)
The sewing machine die-cut is by Tilda and I've added a scrap of lace.

The flower stamp is by Hero Arts and comes with a coordinating Sizzix embossing folder, it's called Silhouette Vines. I love the effect of the embossing, really makes the stamping 'pop'. I added a couple of coloured pearls to the image too.
