Toucan

This card was heavily inspired by the ideas sheet enclosed with the toucan die (Creative Expressions)

Instead of the background they had shown though I made my own using a green spray ink on plain white card. I then used a leaf stencil (brand unknown, think it was a magazine freebie) with Colour Cloud ink on top of that.

The flower dies are SU and all other dies are Creative Expressions.

Card is 7 x 7 inches and was inspired by one I'd seen on Pinterest by Shawn de Oliveria

Flower stamp by Stampin' Up! which has been heat-embossed on watercolour card. The image was coloured using SU ink pads and a water brush.

I started with a piece of water colour card four inches high but about six inches wide and stamped the image. I've then fussy cut the left hand side of the stamped flower and used a paper trimmer at the top and bottom of the image to trim it to four inches square.

Sentiment is a Sue Wilson die

A simple thank you card for friends of ours. They invited us round for Sunday lunch recently and asked that we take Fletcher along with us, so nice when people make your dog welcome!

This SU set reminds me of Fletch with his floppy ears :)

You Move Me

I bought this stamp and die set several weeks ago and have only just got round to playing with it. I didn't look at it properly before I dived in and so after I'd finished the card I realised I'd made a couple of mistakes!

The set is from Stampin' Up! and what you can't tell from the photographs is that the birds appear to be flying when you pull the tag up. It's a very cool effect and really simple to do.

So my mistakes were not to cut a semi-circle from the top of the turquoise panel  - I hadn't even noticed the semi-circle die which is included in the set  -  and the flowers I'm not entirely sure are the correct way up (or maybe the flowers are correct and their centres are upside down? or the centres would maybe look better using the appropriate die?)

All products are SU. Card is 7 X 5

I loved the 'hospitality' sentiment and bought the set primarily because of it.

I stamped on to white shimmer card, heat embossed with white powder, and then added colour using Colour Cloud inks.

I needed to make a really quick card to say 'thank you' for an unexpected gift.

I took a landscape card blank and chopped off most of the front, just leaving enough left to attach a tag by Craftwork Cards. I then lined the inside with some ombre paper, again by Craftwork Cards.

The card still needed something adding but I couldn't think what, I didn't want it to look fussy as I know the recipients like clean styles. In the end I die-cut their house number using an old Sizzix alpha, and stuck it on the tag front.

By the time I'd finished the card my new Altenew stamps had arrived and I couldn't resist using them for the envelope (wonky 'e' to go with the wonky 'k'...)

I was playing round with spritzing inks but couldn't get the look I wanted with this card. After I'd stuck everything down I figured out it wasn't the inking that was at fault it was the proportions - I'd put the sentiment too high up the card. The thread was then added as an after-thought to try and re-balance it all.

Anyway, the sentiment die is by Memory Box and the faux enamel dots were made with Nuvo crystal drops. Stamp is by Personal Impressions.

The finished card is 7 x 7 inches.

I've used a brayer to ink the embossing folder before running it through my machine. I then die-cut the sentiment from the centre and replaced it with a darker die-cut for an in-laid effect.
Some random leaf and flower stamping and now I'm looking at the photo I think I'll add some pearls to those die-cut flowers.

8 x 8 gatefold card.
I've used Sizzix Sewing Room die and Lili of the Valley papers.

Only just visible on the cream card  -  I stamped lots of rows of HOTP stitch stamps and embossed in clear powder.  The sentiment has been die-cut four times and layered for dimension.

One Sheet Wonder

Two more cards made with the same one-sheet wonder from the previous post.
I ended up making two 6" x 6" and two 5 x 7" from the same sheet, I still had more left over but was bored of it at this point!

The above card, it's not easy to tell from the photo, but the green on each side of the panel is actually vellum so it's softer than it appears here.

Another card using Rubber Stamp Tapestry stamps.
This time I die-cut two ovals and used them as stencils, stamping through the gap between them.

I recently dragged out my very old "peg" stamps thinking it would be a good project for craft club.
I need a bit more practice: this card was a rush job!

Candi

Last week's project at card club.

This was a good session, everyone chose their own colour schemes, and they were kept quiet concentrating on their colouring in!


We used a stamp by Woodware called 'Michelle' and added Card Candi and glitter and gems, plus some colouring with pro-markers, the leaves were paper-pieced.

I should have taken photographs of all the different cards with their various colours,  never mind.

I made this card using SU paper for the scallop strips and a Memory Box/ Poppy Stamps sentiment die.
Ombre paper is Webster's Pages, sequins are Doodlebug.

I then adapted it slightly for this week's card club project, swapping the sequins for buttons and the ombre paper for plain layers.

We had fun changing the colour of the SU paper using inks, and most of the ladies made a second card, using more of the paper with coral or yellow themes.

I'm still not back up to speed, walking or crafting wise, but slowly getting there.

This was a card we made at craft club yesterday. We used a Poppystamps die for the sentiment, cutting four times and layering up for a 3-d effect.
I have no idea what the difference is between Poppystamps and Memory Box dies as they seem to be the same company? Makes it a little confusing when buying online in any case.

The flower and leaf dies are by My Favourite Things/ Die-namics.

We had a lovely time recently at a friends' house so I wanted to make a thank you card. During our stay one of our friends wore a very bright shirt absolutely covered with butterflies (he's quite a big bloke as well so lots of butterflies!)
