A simple card using Tonic dies  -  I say simple but it took me a while to figure the dies out! I'll know better next time.

Main stamp is a cheapy from China, sentiment stamp by JustRite
I've heat embossed with white powder, on white shimmer card, then smooshed Colour Cloud inks over the top.

The net is from B&Q, it's sold as "Grout haze removing cloth" and works out very cheap indeed! much cheaper than cheesecloth but looks virtually the same.

In My Thoughts

Simple card made using a piece of Stampbord that I've coloured with inks.
Sentiment stamp is by Personal Impressions, other stamps are Nature Walk by Stampin' Up!

Thinking Of You

I don't actually like this all that much but thought I'd share it anyway.
It's the same flower stamp (Woodware) as on the previous post and I liked this card right up until I added the sentiment.

I'd stamped and embossed the flowers, painted them with Colour Cloud inks, then looked at it again the next day and thought there was something missing. Decided it needed a stamped sentiment (Hero Arts)...and then instantly regretted it. Never mind!

Thinking About You

This started out as a birthday card, 8 x 8 inches, but it ended up "Thinking About You" instead.
I couldn't get a decent cut edge (think I'd done too many layers) and it started getting smaller and smaller...good job I'm not a hairdresser!

Papers are from Making Cards magazine and sentiment is a Waltzingmouse stamp.

I masked off a strip on some white card and smudged on a couple of distress inks, then stamped with Card-io stamps in black.
The sentiment is Jane's Script by Woodware.

Thinking about you

This card was too hard to photograph, the shiny surfaces were confusing my camera. In real life the colours are plum/ purple with silver.

It was made for last week's craft club project. We cut a negative shape using a Memory Box die and backed with self-adhesive sheet before applying gilding flakes.
Bit of a mess when we scrubbed the flakes off, leading one of my ladies to declare "I'm definitely not doing this at home!"

Don't know why the ribbon looks very odd on here, it does 'go' better in real life and doesn't look so lost! How strange (I think I need to learn how to take photos, my snap-and-go is just not cutting it, is it?)

I cut it three times; once on pink, once on white, and once on black cardstock.

I think it might have worked better if I'd offset the white or pink, perhaps one third pink to two thirds white?
Because, after I'd attached the pieces together, I struggled to find a stamped sentiment that would then fit where I wanted. In the end I found a pack of stickers in my stash and, in the absence of anything else, stuck them on!

On a side note: no idea what brand the stickers are but they were 49p, other sentiments were in the same pack too, so a bit of a bargain. They were from a craft outlet shop in Spalding, Lincs.
The shop had plenty of branded stuff ie box sets of three Hero Arts stamps for £1.99, worth a look if you are in the area (but probably one of those places where you either come away with armfuls or nothing at all).

I've used three different kinds of vellum layered up. The first one has white leaves printed on, the second is quite a heavy-weight vellum, the third is tracing paper.

Years ago a friendly craft-shop owner recommended buying a pad of tracing paper instead of individual sheets of vellum, it's much cheaper but obviously more delicate.

I aligned the three pieces of vellum and folded them about an inch in, then used this inch to attach at the back of the card only. The front of the card is quite floaty but the weight of the sentiment panel is holding the layers down, it solves the issue of trying to hide adhesive under vellum.

I've hand-stitched, first time ever! Usually I do faux stitching but decided today to actually use needle and thread (I'm useless at sewing, can you tell?)

I don't have any cards to show, except this one, sorry it's so boring. I try to update every other day but at this time of year often life just gets in the way.

Anyway, it's a Penny Black stamp and I've kept it simple as it's for someone whose partner has recently died, so a 'Thinking of you at Christmas' type card.

Thinking Of You

My mum's sister should have been celebrating a special birthday in a few days, sadly she passed away suddenly a couple of months ago.
I wanted to send her husband a card on what would have been my aunt's birthday, to let him and her children know that she's not forgotten.

My aunt's favourite colour was pink and her nickname in our family was 'Queen' so I used this Pink Paislee patterned paper with crowns on, and added some dusky pink and dark brown, so it's a nod to my aunt without being too feminine for her husband.

I really, really, don't like orange. Not in clothes, home-decor, or crafting.

However I was determined to try and use some orange paper that was in a pack with other colours.

Having made this card I still don't like orange.

Everything except the button is Stampin' Up!

I didn't have a button in a suitable colour so smeared one with an inkpad and dipped it in embossing powder before heating with a heat gun.
