Stamps are by Papermania.

I stamped and heat embossed on to plain white card, using white embossing powder.
I then sponged Colour Cloud ink over the top for a resist effect.

Mother's Day

In real life the card stock I used is beautiful pearlescent shades of teal.

The stamps are Inkadinkado and Papermania.

A very strange Mother's Day this year. Mum and I spoke to each other from a safe distance, she inside her house and me on the path outside.

Hoping all my card-making club ladies are safe and well and enjoying lots of crafting during this lockdown.

Concertina

This is from a tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts. I love Sam's videos, she's very clear and doesn't faff about.

The card is 6 x 6 inches when closed but has quite a spring to it when opened, I think I might try another one with a ribbon closure.

The hardest part with this one was choosing the papers. I desperately need to have a good sort through my Christmas stash, it's built up over years and needs a cull.

I've used Bright Rosa sentiment dies inside, the 'peace' die on the front is an old one that I think is PTI.

Papers used are Papermania.

Mum

Card I made for my mum's birthday last week.

I used stamps by Papermania and the patterned papers are by DCWV, the floral paper is foiled.
Finished card is 8 x 8 inches.

Camera

I borrowed the camera stamps (think they are Tim Holtz?) heat embossed with black powder.

I've scattered some embossing enamel and added faux stitching.

Poppies

For one of my lovely ladies. Joan's favourite flowers are poppies so every year I try to make a card with them on.

This is an 8- inch swing card, card blank is from Crafter's Companion.

The poppy stamp set is an old one from Docrafts and I've decoupaged it. Alphabet dies from eBay and I have no idea what brand the leaf die is.

Acetate

Bit hard to photograph this one.

It's a sheet of printed acetate that I folded to make the card blank, then it just needed a topper.
Behind the topper, on the inside, is a piece of white card for the message - this means that the adhesive is sandwiched between the two and therefore not visible.

Because of the thickness of the acetate it was impossible to score so I just folded it over and then used a plastic roller to enforce the fold. I bought the roller in a DIY shop and I *think* they're sold to go over wallpaper seams, it's been so handy over the years when making my own card blanks.

I can't quite believe it, that given how many hundred of stamps I own, I don't actually have a "Good luck in your new job" sentiment. I could only really find two basic "Good Luck" stamps in my stash and they weren't suitably sized for what I needed.

I ended up using an "All The Best" greeting instead, I'm sure the recipient won't mind.

I've brayered blue ink directly on to an embossing folder before placing a piece of white card inside and rolling it through the Cuttlebug.

Mother's Day

I was so pleased to be able make this card for my mum for Mothering Sunday this year.

A few days after Christmas, through absolutely no fault of her own, she was knocked down by a car (someone reversing from a driveway said 'he did not see' my mum and dad standing on the pavement). My dad was okay but my mum took the full impact and was thrown onto the road, she suffered injuries and has had other health complications since but we are so grateful she is still with us.

Now you know why I had not much time or inclination for crafting and blogging through January and February!

The card is 8 x 8 inches.

I used a grand Nestie circle die to cut through the front of the card, and the same die to cut a sentiment panel for the inside. Then I cut a scalloped circle out of purple card, put the plain circle die inside that and cut again.
So basically the sentiment panel is glued inside but visible from the outside.

The 'mum' stamp is by Papermania and the other is SU.
Patterned paper is Tilda, leaves die is Sue Wilson, and all flowers are Hobbycraft.

Thinking of those who find Mother's Day difficult.xx.

Cracked Flower

Image is a freebie with the current Docrafts magazine. There's an article in there about using embossing powder to make a cracked finish.
I used the technique but changed the card design to my own.

The image was covered with Versamark clear ink then sprinkled with clear embossing powder (just the normal stuff, not UTEE) then heated. This was repeated another two times, so three layers of ink and powder altogether. Left a few minutes to cool you then bend the image in different directions to form the cracks, it looks like a vintage tile.
If you don't like how you've cracked it then a quick blast of the heat gun smooths it all out again.

After the cracking I rubbed a beige ink pad over the image and buffed off, this emphasises the crackles where the ink seeps in.
I've done something similar years ago but thought you had to use UTEE, I didn't realise ordinary clear powder would work just as well :)

Celebrate

Topper is by Papermania
It was a struggle to find something to fit across without obscuring the roses or the writing, nothing looked quite right. I'm still not happy with the 'celebrate' but it was the only thing I had that didn't make it all look un-balanced.

The bottom left and top right corners have been sprinkled with Frantage embossing enamel. I love this stuff but have found it doesn't like melting through multiple layers! Also much easier using a hairdryer style heat-gun rather than the long thin type, the heat is spread gently so it doesn't blow the speckles off before they have chance to melt.

Mini Album

My friend recently became a grandmother for the first time so I made this mini-album for the new arrival.

Everything I used, except for the ribbon, is by Papermania, including the acetate album.
