Gift Bag

I posted a link the other day to a free tutorial for making a gift bag. The bags use a sheet of 12 x 12 and are very easy to do.

They're not quite wide enough for a DVD (which was my first thought) so I had a quick look in the supermarket whilst doing the weekly shopping to see what would fit.

The height is perfect for these bubble baths, also Cadbury's chocolate bags.
Handily these were on offer at Tesco so I thought I should buy some, just for your benefit you understand.
So you could see they fit the gift bag. Not because I wanted to eat them, no.

The Twirl ones are delicious ;)

Men

Image is Kanban, another freebie from my friend at craft club. The sheets she gets cheap are very slightly faulty - some of the printing is missing or they have been double printed or something. So if you look closely at this one the circles in the corners of the image are odd but never mind, I'm not complaining :)

Happy Birthday

One of the lovely ladies at my craft club gave me several sheets of male-themed patterned cardstock, she gets it cheap (like about ten sheets for a pound cheap).

I just added some inking, ribbon and a WaltzingMouse stamped sentiment.

Links To Tutorials

As I mentioned in the last couple of posts I've bought a few tutorials from various crafters.

I thought I'd post a list of some of the blogs that are offering tutorials, some are free and some charge a couple of pounds.

The one problem I have often found is that until you actually buy the tutorials you don't know what equipment you will need to complete the projects. I understand that a lot of the people who develop them are Stampin' Up demo's and so obviously they are promoting and selling SU.
It's not always an issue because sometimes you can substitute everyday stash for SU anyway but is something to be aware of I think.

Here are a few links:

Cards and a cuppa - some freebies here

Stamping With Val - where I bought the suitcase class

Video tut to make a purse - the only 'problem' with YouTube is that if I start watching one I end up watching for ages due to all the related links, but for free tutorials it can't be beat.

Another mini purse/ bag on YouTube

I made the BBQ/ grill from here last year for Father's Day

A freebie box here and she also has some tutorials for sale

The book-box tutorial is here, enjoyed this one.

Freebie gift bag tutorial here

If YouTube is not enough of a time sucker then there is also SplitCoastStampers but you need days and days to look through all the tutorials on there!

Hope some of these are of use, I do appreciate other crafters sharing their expertise, especially the freebies :)

Suitcase

This was another online tutorial, costing £3 for the instructions for the box and matching cards.

It took a little bit more time than the box I showed yesterday but was straightforward enough.
Aren't some people clever? I would have no idea how to design something like this and definitely do not have the patience to sit and work out measurements!

Book Box

Same as previous post but I've used DCWV Holiday Collection card to make a Christmas version.

Book Box

No Stampin' Up classes for the last couple of weeks so I decided to have a look at online tutorials instead.
There are loads of freebies on SplitCoastStampers and also YouTube as well as people selling classes via their blogs.

I liked the look of this one and it was only £3. That was the instructions for the book/ box and also four cards.

Mine is different in that I haven't decorated it as much but for a first attempt I was quite pleased with how it turned out.
The instructions were very clear and easy to follow and you don't actually need to use all SU stuff.
The only 'essential' SU item in my opinion is the Word Window punch to make the closure buckle thingy but if you didn't have that you could just cut a piece of card freehand.

I should have used tape all along the back of the spine but we live and learn!

I ran out of steam and failed to decorate the inside of the box, lazy me.

Gorjuss

Tag is Gorjuss (from The Range)
I've mounted it on spotty paper by Stampin' Up and black card by Basic Grey. The cardstock on the right hand side is embossed with an Indentz 'Happy Birthday' embossing folder and finished off with a Prima flower.

Car

Something quick and easy because I always leave family cards until the last minute.

Sentiment is computer generated and the car stamp is by Papermania.

My brother loves Sports Mixture sweets so as a little present to go with his main one I made this tag to match the card and tied it on a cheap glass jar (Lakeland have the jars in all sizes).
