Layout
This was a layout I did quite a few years ago.
The colours are different in real life - a bright turquoise, bright pink and lime green. My scanner could not cope hence the faded look here.
This was me as a six year old in Liverpool.
The layout was inspired by the cover of the Next Directory, I liked the colours and the flowers and thought it would be nice scrapped. I often pull out pics from magazine adverts etc to inspire cards or layouts. The hard work has already then been done by trained graphic designers!
All the flowers were made using Sizzix dies or small punches.

Cards for men

House Mouse
I think this is the third card I've made using this House Mouse image recently. Whilst I like the image I have struggled as to what colours I can use to mount it other than yellow and grey or black. Coloured the image with Copics and added Glamour Dust to the wings.
The yellow card is gorgeous in real life - a rich buttery gold pearlescent that I got at one of the fill-a-wallet places. Scrap of ribbon to finish off.

Sunflowers
I'm not keen on this one but thought I'd post it anyway. I like the sunflowers but don't like the positioning etc.
I made the sunflowers using a Sizzix daisies die, they are a lovely gold shimmery paper. The centres were cut with a Sizzix circles die and then they have been embossed with Cuttlebug Polka Dots folder.
The poem is a stamp by Creative Stamping.

Birthday Wishes
SEI paper mounted on matt silver cardstock, layered on teal blue (it looks a different colour here but IRL it's not so blue more teal).
The flower is a Sizzix die and the gemstone brad is Making Memories. The sentiment is part of a Whispers rubber stamp - it is actually "Best Birthday Wishes" but I didn't have space for the "Best" so didn't ink that part of the stamp!

BBQ
Something a bit different for me.
I'm not great at measuring, cutting out, following written instructions....but I saw this on a blog and thought it would be fun for Father's Day.
Can you tell what it is yet?
The instructions cost just under $3, so £2 via Paypal. They are sent as a pdf file for you to print out and include a template to make a matching card in the shape of an apron.

The card fits inside the BBQ itself and is to hold one of those giftcards you can get in the shops. I'm not giving a gift card so I want to make the greeting card a fair bit larger, hopefully get that done for the next blog post.
Here's the completed BBQ. I haven't copied the original exactly in that I haven't put wheels on (don't have the correct size punches) and also a temp gauge missing from the lid.
The instructions were very straightforward although I was concerned at one point that it wasn't going to work due to a printed template not fitting properly, turned out okay though.
My dad has just got a new BBQ so this is a joke for him for Father's Day this weekend.

Celebrate
The patterned paper is from My Minds Eye "Andrea Victoria" collection, I added Glamour Dust to some of the flower heads (are they flowers? well whatever they are, some of the little circles on the tips are glittery now).
Matted and layered on pearlescent ivory and charcoal cardstock. "Celebrate" is a Sizzlit die.

Butterfly
I love this butterfly paper, it's from SEI Bridgeport collection and has a lovely sheen to it.
Because the paper is so nice I didn't want to cover it up too much - just a stamped greeting and some ribbon and then mounted on some teal coloured Bazzill.
The stamp is Sincere Salutations by Stampin' Up and is nearly a perfect fit with the SU oval punches (just misses a little bit off the 'd').

Thinking Of You
Stamped image is by Stampendous, coloured with Copics.
The 'Thinking Of You' is a stamp by My Sentiments Exactly and I have only used part of the stamp (there are nine 'Thinking Of You' in different fonts, I've used the top one).
Mounted on Goochie Script Cuttlebug embossed card and a scrap of ribbon to finish.

Butterfly + Paper Chains
I spotted these cute paper chains the other day and thought I might be able to use them on cards. They had different ones; birthday, wedding, union flags, congratulations etc.
I only bought one pack to see if they were any good and of course as soon as I got home I wished I had bought more. They were £2.99 and you get quite a few in the pack (too lazy to count but a quick Google tells me 3 metres worth).
Here's a quick card I made using one chain. The butterfly is a Quickutz Revolution die and the spotty paper is by American Crafts. The solid part of the butterfly is DCWV metallic card and the dark grey is a pearly card from one of the fill-a-wallet places.
I've tracked down more paper chains via Google so expect to see them on more cards.
I'm thinking it would be easy enough to chalk them for a different colour too.

Another Magnolia image that I was sent (but don't like!).
Coloured with Copics, some Glamour Dust added to the wings.
Sentiment is a peel-off by Anita's, paper is by Imaginisce.

Robin Hood
I don't actually like this card! Someone sent me a few Magnolia images that I would not normally use but waste not want not.
I think because I did not care for the images I couldn't get motivated with them.
Anyway coloured with Copics, patterned paper is Forever Friends by Docrafts.
Sentiment is Craftwork Cards layered using Stampin Up punches.
