Easter Carrots
I don't normally make Easter cards/ gifts but I saw a tutorial here for making these cute carrots and could not resist.
Mine contain micro-mini chocolate eggs.
I used Echo Park paper, the punches are SU.
Because I don't normally do Easter stuff I wasn't sure if I actually had any suitable sentiments but thought that given how many stamp sets I have there must be at least one somewhere.
Surprisingly there was only one, in dozens of sets, and of course it was the last one I looked at. Anyway it's a Personal Impressions design and the 'Happy' is a separate stamp to the 'Easter' so it's easy to do in two different coloured inks.
One carrot looked lonely so I made two. If I make a whole bunch I have a great excuse to buy more chocolate eggs...

Thanks
I'd been looking for a bird-cage die for ages and finally found one I liked enough to buy.
Some of the others I'd seen were too big or too chunky-looking or I just didn't like the shape so I was quite excited to spot the perfect die.
This one is by Memory Box and is called Carousel Bird Cage. Here's why I like it:
From the one die I can get at least four different sizes of cage (maybe another one if I chop that little loop off the top). I've just trimmed the cage down each time, the last one shown on the right I've turned it upside down too. So for me this wasn't just the best cage die in regards of size but also the most versatile.
Here I've used a SU punch but it felt cruel putting the bird inside the cage so he's sitting on it instead!
The paper is Echo Park 'Candy Shoppe' and the sentiment is a Cuttlebug die.

Birthday Wishes
Plain and simple.
The paper is SU and the sentiment is Waltzingmouse.
I have to say I love WM stamps, they don't repel ink like some clear stamps do and they give a nice crisp image.

Acetate
These are very awkward to photograph!
Not my usual style but I do like to try different techniques now and again.
These cards were made from a Kanban kit. They consist of printed acetate with identically-printed toppers so basically you attach the acetate over the topper and get a 3-D effect.
I should have taken a photo sideways on to show the depth of the 3-D but hopefully you can get the idea from these.

Happy Birthday
Sentiment is by WaltzingMouse
Patterned paper was a magazine freebie
Kraft card by Papermania and I've stamped it with SU Delicate Doilies
The button is Docrafts.
They have a large bag full for £3, mostly browns and greens and creams, great value for money.
Sorting through the buttons I noticed quite a few have famous brand names on them, I wonder if Docrafts have bought a huge lot from a major button factory?
Oh well I can't afford a Chanel jacket but a button is a good start!

Husband
This was the card I made for my husband's birthday last week.
He loves single malt whisky and whilst buying him a bottle in a specialist shop I noticed some advertising leaflets/ brochures.
The covers of the leaflets were kraft cardstock so I picked up a couple thinking that they might be nice turned into cards!
As it turned out I didn't use the kraft but did decide to use one of the printed images - a bottle of whisky.
The acetate is by Kanban, bit hard to see but it is printed with a subtle pattern. I cut the whisky image down and mounted it on Kanban card (the card has an identical pattern to the acetate). To get the curve I chopped an inch or so off the card and attached the acetate at the top and bottom. Because of the size difference the acetate then curves around the card. Looking back I should perhaps have scored it first as it would be less stress on the card but it was the first time I'd tried the technique.
The card-blank is 8 inch square and is Papermania.
The die-cut letters are Sizzix Script.
