Bon Voyage

This is for a challenge on Cardmaking & Papercraft, the theme is silhouettes.
I've used distress inks for the background, Memory Box dies, and the sentiment is by Clearly Besotted stamps.

Birthday

Paper is by Tilda
I didn't want to cover up too much of the pattern so stamped the sentiment (Waltzingmouse Stamp) directly on to it and highlighted with a Nestie frame. The frame was smudged on to a Versamark pad and then white and pale pink embossing powder added, some bits rubbed off, and then heated, for a rough effect.

Hugs

My kind friend Maria sent me some tag-shaped cards recently.
I've used Tilda paper and die-cuts and added some stitching and seam-binding.
'Hugs' die is Simon Says Stamp

Sequins

I have all these little pots of Doodlebug sequins that I need to try and use before I get bored of them!

I've just dotted them about randomly on some kraft card, I didn't have to be too neat with the glue either so that was a bonus (I have large hands and fingers so fine work is quite difficult for me, hence me liking simple and quick cards!)

The stamp is by Stampin' Up! and I used their pewter embossing powder as a change from silver.

The layers are straighter than they appear here, because the top panel is on foam pads it hasn't photographed well at all.

Congratulations

Another quick one to use up some scraps from my desk.

Friend

Sequins by Doodlebug
Stamp by Clearly Besotted.

I'm not entirely happy with the placement of the sentiment, should have gone a bit lower I think?
Anyway, I'm going to enter it in Clearly Besotted's "Anything Goes" challenge

Father's Day

Quick one for my dad.
He loves football and won't be interested if the card is crafty or full of fancy techniques, good job he won't notice that I hadn't heated the 'f' properly and the embossing powder dropped off...

Stamp was free with a recent magazine and decoupage is by Anita's.

Love

I am very much a crafter who picks things up and then decides what to make, rather than someone who decides what to make first and then searches for the right items; be at that home in my craft room or in a craft shop/ online site.

The problem with this method is when I come to make a card for someone specific I quite often leave it until very late and am then 'scratting round' trying to think what to do!

Last week was our wedding anniversary and I hadn't forgotten the date or anything but for some reason just did not make a card, then realised at 11pm the night before.
I needed something very quick and simple, hence this card.

Picked up a sheet of Teresa Collins 12 x 12 and spotted this bicycle-themed panel (one of our shared hobbies is cycling so it was appropriate) and then almost immediately found a sheet of matching rust-coloured card with a very slight sheen. Pure luck.

I did wonder whether to emboss the card-stock as worried it was too plain and simple but the card itself is 8x8 inches, which has more impact than my usual 6x6 anyway, and I do think sometimes less is definitely more and not because I was very tired at this point and couldn't be bothered.

Dreams

I am a fan of Debby Hughes' work, her fab blog is here

This is my very-influenced-by-Debby card (small peg + twine + sequins + angled layers), I hope she doesn't mind!

Sentiment stamp by Clearly Besotted, punch by SU
Sequins are Doodlebug and the tiny dots are the inner bits - I used a cocktail stick to dab a teeny amount of Glossy Accents direct to the card and then dropped the dot on top.

Small peg I have had about a decade and that is not an exaggeration, used to make 'washing line' cards with them many years ago...

Birthday

I had originally made a tag to attach to this card but an accident with an ink-pad meant a design change half-way through.
Then, after I photographed it I noticed the missing 'dot' over the 'i' and that I'd forgotten to stitch through the holes!
