Dinosaur

I recently bought a new die from Dies To Die For, very quick service and the cheapest place by a long way for the die. In the package was a selection of random die-cuts and this dinosaur was one of them.
I don't know any children (or adults actually!) who are into dinosaurs so nearly threw it in the bin as I couldn't think how to use it.

Stickers are from an ancient QVC kit.

We're just trying to decide which colour to paint our living room and have collected a number of paint charts.
This one was too nice to throw away! It has a nice matt finish and the squares of 'paint' are attached separately so it looks a step-up from the usual shiny printed charts.
(Farrow & Ball, available from Homebase, and no we haven't decided on what colour paint to buy yet but it won't be smoked trout, who thinks of those names?)

Die-cut has been in my stash for a very long time!

Covered a giant peg to match, it's about six inches high. I love these pegs for using as receipt holders/ paperweights.

Bookmark Birthday

One of my craft club ladies adores poppies, when I spotted this poppy bookmark in a local garden centre I decided to buy it to use as part of her birthday card. She very kindly gives lifts to other members each week so the sentiment on the bookmark was very appropriate.
I only attached the green cardstock along three sides so it's easy to slide the bookmark out.

I've made the flower using a SU scallop punch and some coffee filters (Tesco!)

I wanted to matt the vellum quote with some gold card as it looked lost and needed some definition but when I tried this it didn't quite look right. Matting meant that too much of the patterned paper was then covered up.
After leaving it overnight inspiration struck and I used a very old Krylon gold marker to edge the vellum, I think I've had it eight years or so and haven't used it for ages but it was still fluid.
