Birthday

One of my lovely ladies, Coleen, is the most amazing sewer/ quilter/ needle crafter.

I made this card for her recent birthday using Tilda die-cuts and some washi tape.

Sentiment dies are Sue Wilson, and the finished card is 8 x 8 inches.

Merry Christmas

Image is a recycled one from a card I received a few years back. I know the person who sent me it used SU products.

It was too nice to throw away so I re-mounted it on an embossed panel. The embossing folder is by Crafters Companion and I've added some Liquid Pearls.

Every Good Wish

Sentiment stamp is by Woodware, I heat embossed with silver powder.

After I'd decorated the front panel and attached it to a belly band I realised that I needed to make something for the inside too. I don't know why I hadn't considered it at first that when the belly band was removed there'd be nothing nice about the card!

The stamped image (Stampendous) was lightly coloured and inked and then a piece of double-sided self-adhesive over the whole piece. I removed the backing and then covered it with Glamour Dust so the finished image is very sparkly.

The sentiment inside is a Sue Wilson die and SW poinsettias die-cut from red glitter card. The completed card is glitter and sparkle over-load.

Storybook

A bit dark for photographs but never mind.

I've used Crafters Companion Storybook die set. The sentiment die is also CC and I suspect some, if not all, of the snowflake dies are too.

The top layer is white pearlescent card that I've stamped using a Chloe snowflake border stamp then heat embossed with white powder. It's not very visible here at all but I've used pale blue and teal Colour Cloud inks to lift the stamped snowflakes and also the edges of the white card.

Christmas Carol

Card-blank started off as 8x8 inches but then I trimmed some off the right-hand side as I wasn't happy with the proportions.

I used a Gemini embossing folder called 'Christmas Carol' on cream pearlescent card and highlighted it with Colour Cloud ink plus some gilding wax.

The poinsettias were made with Tim Holtz for Sizzix "Tattered Poinsettia" die and matching embossing folder. I used the gilding wax again to highlight the veins on the flowers.

New Home

I needed to make a 'New Home' card and was in a rush (as usual).

Initially I'd just decided to use a cut-up paint chart but the card definitely needed something else. I don't have any New Home/ Welcome dies or suitable stamps, despite my husband thinking I own every piece of stash on the market...

I had previously bought some inexpensive keys on eBay to make Santa Keys and had three or four left over so I decided to use one of these on my card.

I started with a 7 x 5" card-blank and cut off the right hand side. I couldn't adhere the key just using glue or tape as it was too heavy, so I punched four holes in the card-blank and tied ribbon through to hold the key. I have added a couple of glue dots underneath but the ribbon meant it was quite secure anyway.

The metal keys are about 30-35p each and obviously the paint charts are free, so a very quick and cheap card to make, no dies or stamps needed.

Peace

Embossing folder is Studded Leather by Crafters Companion. I've added Nuvo drops to each stud.

Poinsettias are a Sue Wilson die set, the glitter card was made with Glitter Kiss by Creative Expressions.

Sentiment is a PTI die.

I think, looking at the photos, that I might add something else, maybe some gold leaves or flourishes.

Pop-Up

Excuse the poor photography, the light was very dim.

I used 7 x 7 card blank. The pop-up inner is 8 x 8" that has been scored in half both horizontally and vertically, then scored diagonally across one side only.

Papers used are by The Paper Boutique. I just used an embossing folder on a couple of pieces of the plain paper.

Quilted bag

I loved this gift bag as soon as I saw the tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts.

My version uses pearlescent black card with some silver Pebeo gilding wax rubbed on. The quilted effect is from an embossing folder by Crafters Companion called "Studded Leather".

Sam used broken jewellery for her chain handle on the tutorial but I just bought a couple of metres of cheap silver chain on eBay. The split rings are from Amazon.

I used Sizzix Block Party alphabet dies to make the entwined C's for the clasp.

I wasn't trying to rip-off that very expensive designer brand when I entwined the C's.
I was making the bag as a gift for my friend Coleen. She has worked so hard for months now, making beautiful items to sell for charity, and has raised an amazing £725.

I filled the bag with some chocolates, it's fairly roomy but the handles won't take too much weight.

Now I just need to make another ten or so...

Having made my own red glitter card for club projects, as shown on the previous post, I have been using up the left-overs.

Embossing folder is Crafters Companion, a little Pebeo gilding wax rubbed across.

I used Glitter Kiss by Creative Expressions to make my own red glitter card for the poinsettias
As I've made more poinsettias I've added gold Liquid Pearls to the centres (this sample was rushed for card club project)

Happy Birthday

I've already shown the birthday card I made for my mum recently. I liked the papers and the ribbon so much that I made another card, for one of my ladies, with the same products.

Instead of stamping this time I used sentiment dies by Sue Wilson. The paper is by DCWV and it's from a pad called Meet Me In Paris. I bought it from Craft Clearance for a bargain price, it's really lovely quality, ditto the ribbon.

I do find the Craft Clearance website a little frustrating in that if you look in the various categories you might not find an item, but it is actually there on the site, just not in the place you expect it to be!

So the pink ribbon is not in the ribbon category however it is listed under the brand May Arts. The search function is equally frustrating. The bargains are so good though, it is worth a half an hour browse, and they are very prompt to dispatch.

Concertina

This is from a tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts. I love Sam's videos, she's very clear and doesn't faff about.

The card is 6 x 6 inches when closed but has quite a spring to it when opened, I think I might try another one with a ribbon closure.

The hardest part with this one was choosing the papers. I desperately need to have a good sort through my Christmas stash, it's built up over years and needs a cull.

I've used Bright Rosa sentiment dies inside, the 'peace' die on the front is an old one that I think is PTI.

Papers used are Papermania.

Mum

Card I made for my mum's birthday last week.

I used stamps by Papermania and the patterned papers are by DCWV, the floral paper is foiled.
Finished card is 8 x 8 inches.

Sunflower

A recent project at the club.
We used ready-made side-stepper card blanks by Crafters Companion and the stamps are by Woodware.

We used Tim Holtz Oxide inks to colour plain white card and then stamped and heat-embossed with SU copper powder. The flower was stamped again and decoupaged (please excuse my very rough fussy-cutting) and we added some dots of gilding flakes and also some seed beads.

The woodgrain embossing folder is by SU. We used some gilding wax to bring out the grain effect.

Love

I made this card for my parents' recent wedding anniversary, the colours match their living room walls.

I love the 3D embossing folder I've used, it has such deep definition. It's called 'Studded Leather' and I've used cream Liquid Pearls to highlight each 'stud'.

The sentiment die is by Simon Says Stamp.

Flip-flap cards

We made some flip-flap cards at the club recently. There are lots of different tutorials on YouTube/ Blogs etc.

I've used SU punches for the mechanism, SU stamps,  and the patterned paper I've had years.

Birthday

Made for one of my lovely club ladies.
I've used an embossing folder by Creative Expressions for the frame and highlighted it with a little gilding wax.

Sentiment dies are also Creative Expressions. Flowers are from The Range

70

Things have been hectic of late, I haven't really had time for card making or blogging.

I made this card a few weeks back for one of my ladies who was celebrating a milestone birthday.

Numbers were cut on my ancient Cricut machine, flowers from the Range.

Shutter card

I made this shutter card following a great tutorial on Mixed-Up Crafts.

I've used Paper Boutique papers and topper, the sentiment stamp is by LOTV.
