Quilted bag

I loved this gift bag as soon as I saw the tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts.

My version uses pearlescent black card with some silver Pebeo gilding wax rubbed on. The quilted effect is from an embossing folder by Crafters Companion called "Studded Leather".

Sam used broken jewellery for her chain handle on the tutorial but I just bought a couple of metres of cheap silver chain on eBay. The split rings are from Amazon.

I used Sizzix Block Party alphabet dies to make the entwined C's for the clasp.

I wasn't trying to rip-off that very expensive designer brand when I entwined the C's.
I was making the bag as a gift for my friend Coleen. She has worked so hard for months now, making beautiful items to sell for charity, and has raised an amazing £725.

I filled the bag with some chocolates, it's fairly roomy but the handles won't take too much weight.

Now I just need to make another ten or so...

Chloe

Another project for my club ladies.
We used an 8" scallop circle card blank.
All stamps are by Chloe Endean. We heat embossed on white shimmer card and also on acetate.

Peace

Having made my own red glitter card for club projects, as shown on the previous post, I have been using up the left-overs.

As I've made more poinsettias I've added gold Liquid Pearls to the centres (this sample was rushed for card club project)

Happy Birthday

I've already shown the birthday card I made for my mum recently. I liked the papers and the ribbon so much that I made another card, for one of my ladies, with the same products.

Instead of stamping this time I used sentiment dies by Sue Wilson. The paper is by DCWV and it's from a pad called Meet Me In Paris. I bought it from Craft Clearance for a bargain price, it's really lovely quality, ditto the ribbon.

I do find the Craft Clearance website a little frustrating in that if you look in the various categories you might not find an item, but it is actually there on the site, just not in the place you expect it to be!

So the pink ribbon is not in the ribbon category however it is listed under the brand May Arts. The search function is equally frustrating. The bargains are so good though, it is worth a half an hour browse, and they are very prompt to dispatch.

Concertina

This is from a tutorial on Mixed Up Crafts. I love Sam's videos, she's very clear and doesn't faff about.

The card is 6 x 6 inches when closed but has quite a spring to it when opened, I think I might try another one with a ribbon closure.

The hardest part with this one was choosing the papers. I desperately need to have a good sort through my Christmas stash, it's built up over years and needs a cull.

I've used Bright Rosa sentiment dies inside, the 'peace' die on the front is an old one that I think is PTI.

Papers used are Papermania.

Mum

Card I made for my mum's birthday last week.

I used stamps by Papermania and the patterned papers are by DCWV, the floral paper is foiled.
Finished card is 8 x 8 inches.

Sunflower

A recent project at the club.
We used ready-made side-stepper card blanks by Crafters Companion and the stamps are by Woodware.

We used Tim Holtz Oxide inks to colour plain white card and then stamped and heat-embossed with SU copper powder. The flower was stamped again and decoupaged (please excuse my very rough fussy-cutting) and we added some dots of gilding flakes and also some seed beads.

The woodgrain embossing folder is by SU. We used some gilding wax to bring out the grain effect.

Love

I made this card for my parents' recent wedding anniversary, the colours match their living room walls.

I love the 3D embossing folder I've used, it has such deep definition. It's called 'Studded Leather' and I've used cream Liquid Pearls to highlight each 'stud'.

The sentiment die is by Simon Says Stamp.

Flip-flap cards

We made some flip-flap cards at the club recently. There are lots of different tutorials on YouTube/ Blogs etc.

I've used SU punches for the mechanism, SU stamps,  and the patterned paper I've had years.

Birthday

Made for one of my lovely club ladies.
I've used an embossing folder by Creative Expressions for the frame and highlighted it with a little gilding wax.

Sentiment dies are also Creative Expressions. Flowers are from The Range

Things have been hectic of late, I haven't really had time for card making or blogging.

I made this card a few weeks back for one of my ladies who was celebrating a milestone birthday.

Numbers were cut on my ancient Cricut machine, flowers from the Range.

Shutter card

I made this shutter card following a great tutorial on Mixed-Up Crafts.

I've used Paper Boutique papers and topper, the sentiment stamp is by LOTV.

Sweet

Stamps are by Docrafts. I've heat-embossed with white and gold powders.

Inside I made a simple open box, punching a 'bite' using an SU scalloped punch. The biscuits are (box of 48) from Costco but also available on Amazon, they work out less than 20p per pack so a fun addition to the card.

Shabby

We made this card a while back at the club, unfortunately my sample got a bit battered then misplaced, so by the time I photographed it it was definitely on the shabby side of chic.

Embossing folder is by Anna Griffin, we rubbed a little gilding wax over the surface.
Decorative card panel is Graphic 45, the front panel is a stamp by SU. There was originally another small panel tucked into a front pocket but that has disappeared somewhere along the way.

Border die is Spellbinders
Flowers made from card that has been punched (SU) then dampened with water and scrunched up.

Fancy fold friend

Another fold-flat card.
I've used two pieces of card, cut and scored the same size, then adhered together at the sides.

Before adhering I stamped the butterfly (Inkadinkado) using Versamark ink, and die cut an oval in the front piece.

The decorative frame and the flower dies are by Crafters Companion.
The friend die is by Alinacrafts.

Pop-up

7 X 7" card with a pop-up inside. I'd seen similar cards to this on Pinterest but they were tent-fold, I don't tend to do a lot of tent-folds as find they sometimes dislike standing up!

The pop-up mechanism is very simple, a piece of card that is 8 x 8" scored and folded in half both horizontally and vertically. Flip over then score diagonally from one corner to opposite corner (only one diagonal score, not two)

I've used paper and toppers by the Paper Boutique.

Pop-up card

This card was made using measurements from the Craft Spa blog.
It folds flat to fit in a standard envelope.

I've used flower stamp and punch from SU
Sentiment is a Phill Martin stamp. The cream card isn't dirty it has a flecked pattern!

G45

Another fancy-fold using Graphic 45.
Same as one we made at club a few weeks ago but changed the papers.

Notebook

Plain kraft notebook from Wilko. I've seen a good price for these on Hobbycraft website but you need to buy ten at a time (£13.50)

Papers from Graphic 45. I punched a couple of holes in one layer and threaded ribbon through to make a pencil holder.

Card Box

This is meant to be a box to hold half a dozen or so cards. I made the box but haven't got round to making the cards yet...
